Great game, completely unnecessary.
Gameplay- Bioshock 2's gameplay is more improved from the firsts. You can use a nice amount of style in mixing up plasmids with certain weapons, which will definitely intensify the combat. Guns seem to be a little more accurate and they seem to do more damage. The upgrading system seems to have improved for the better, and ofcourse playing as a big daddy does give you some unique abilities.
Graphics- Well Bioshock 2 does a good job in the graphic department just like the first game, I am very happy to see that new areas of Rapture that you visit in Bioshock 2 still feel the same structurally as the areas in Bioshock 1. There is a bad framrate issure on the PS3, not a huge thing to complain about but still it is annoying not being able to read posters or what not in the distance. Then ofcourse with every Big Daddy there is a little sister, I wont go into the details but it is very cool to chill around with Little Sisters in this game and to get more personal with them.
Story- Okay this is where Bioshock hits me hard but im just going to talk about Bioshock 2 as a stand alone game. So yes the story to Bioshock 2 is "okay", it could have been much better, it seemed to be just one big "do this, okay do this, okay you messed up so do this" sort of thing were you end up running around like a dog without a head.
So, your probably wondering why I want to give Bioshock 2 a 7/10 right? Well ill tell you why, Bioshock 2 was the most unnecessary and pointless game I have ever played in my life. I loved Bioshock 1, I feel it is a masterpiece and one of my favorite games of all time. Thing is I guess 2k Marin does not realise that when you put a number at the end of something and you call it a "sequel" that kinda means you have to, oh I don't know kinda make it intertwine some how with the previous installment? Bioshock 2 had absolutley nothing to do with Bioshock 1, infact Bioshock 1 did not need a sequel, it needed a prequel. Bioshock 1 had no loose ends and the only reason Bioshock 2 was made was because 2k as a whole wanted to milk all the Bioshock fans out there while 2k Boston, the original makers of Bioshock 1, make a Bioshock 3 (or who knows).
So bottom line if you call yourself a "Bioshock Fan" then you will truly despise this game, with every fiber of your being. Any true Bioshock fan would completely agree with me that Bioshock 2, while fun, is a complete waste of time and money, and by the time you are done with the game you will feel like you just wasted 15 hours of your life playing a completely pointless game, that should have never been made unless it was going to be a prequel.
On a side note, I am very, very disappointed that 2k would sink this low to milk it's consumers. So whats next 2k? a Bioshock 3 that involves you being a guy who goes to Rapture to rob it of it's riches? Oh! Bioshock 4, how about you play as a pirate who's vessel sinks and you end up in Rapture? Now that would be amazing! I lost alot of respect for 2k after this game came out, not 2k boston but 2k in general, I lost respect for them just like I did when Microsoft brought out that overpriced Avatar Marketplace, and just like I lost respect for Valve for milking people who like Left 4 Dead by popping out a sequel in under a year.
Rent Bioshock 2, and do not let 2k Marin milk you of your money, hell download the game illegally I don't care, it's better then letting 2k Marin get money for this pointless time waster of a game. Lol they should have just called it Bioshock:Rapture in Dispare!. If they called it that instead of Bioshock 2 I would have been much more nicer in my review since it is not meant to have been a sequel, it's more of a spin off.
So go ahead and disapprove of my review, but honestly a true Bioshock fan would never approve of this game, and they would pretend this garbage never even existed.
