This game is good, I will say that, but it doesn't really feel like an installment to the Bioshock franchise as much as it does it's own game. As a stand alone product it is very good, and probably in my top 10 games of all time.
Starting with the bad. The gameplay could be better and the graphics aren't the amazing. I do think the game looks nice but it could have been nicer much like Bioshock 2 was, a game which can't run on my high end laptop. So if a game made a while ago looks nice then this game does really need a face lift. I guess it's not often I have to go into the graphics when talking about the bad, but this could have been better. And then you have to get halfway through the game before anything interesting actually happens. Plus the fact that this is classified as a horror game and I couldn't find a single thing scary about it to the target audience, which is adults. And I also want to ask a question about why Elizabeth didn't call off her guards so that you could just walk up to her and talk to her, she knew that's what you were there for but she didn't call them off. That's my only tiff with the main story.
The good. Bioshock Infinite had a really good story that I can't explain to you with major spoilers. It also had amazing voice acting and some of the plasmids (that's what they are) were original and fun to use. And the game had me tearing up at the end, it really did, I felt really sorry for Booker and if you want to know why either go watch a playthrough or buy the game for yourself, I suggest the latter as this game is a really fun experience. I mean I got it through a Bioshock trilogy collection through steam on a steam sale, which is done now. And then you have the characters, Booker's actual backstory made me tear up and he is developed quite well as a character, and then you have Elizabeth. I love this character because she isn't just another companion character, she is a useful companion character. She can create things to help you fight, she gives you ammo, health, Eve (that's what it is, don't question it) and money. It's a very well made companion character. And that ending, well, you cannot end a video game any better than this game ended, you cannot end a piece of fiction any better
Final verdict:
If you hadn't have guessed I really liked this game. I'm not as in love with it as some other people are but I can definitely see it's charm.
