Its the 1960's and you are on an airplane crossing the Atlantic Sea, suddenly the engines fail, you hear screaming, then a crush. You survive but you are in the middle of the Atlantic, in the distance you notice what looks like a lighthouse.
You swim towards the lighthouse, burning wreckages all around you, as you enter the door it shut behind you. Welcome to Rapture!

Bioshock is a horror FPS that requires strategy as well as quick reflexes in order to survive, if you go guns blazing like you do in the typical FPS you are going to die fast.
For example instead off blowing up the security cameras and wasting ammo you can hack them making them call turrents on your enemies! You can then lure enemies to the cameras which can help you take them out .
Or when dealing with a big daddy instead off taking him straight on you could use the electric trapwire to set a trap, shoot him from a distance and soften him up as he runs to you.
During the game you will get many plasmids and tonics which give you weird abilities, you only have a few slots to place them so you can not equip everything at the same time.
Plasmids and tonics are important to your survival. Say you are almost out of bullets, you can use tonics to boost your melee attack and plasmids like electrobolt to stun a tough opponent making it easier to aim for the head and save ammo.
All in all Bioshock is a quality title that shouldn't be missed by anyone who enjoys games with a strong strory and innovating gameplay!
