Bioshock is one of the best and deepest games I have ever played. It’s totally unique and one of those benchmark games that games will be compared to for years. The deep story and the great 50's style city draws you in and makes you really care about what happened to Rapture.

The story begins in 1960 with your plane crashing and you winding up stumbling upon the city of Rapture. This is were you meet Atlas who helps you though Rapture and you begin to hear about Andrew Ryan the man who created Rapture. You learn about why he created Rapture and though out the game more clues of why it went so horribly wrong. Rapture is mostly populated with Splicers. Who are basically crazy junkies looking for more adam, which is what keeps the world of Rapture going. You can use this Adam to buy plasmids and tonics. Plasmids are abilities like telekinesis, being able to shot fire, lightning, or turn enemies on your side. The world is perfect for you to try things out, with so many ways to do every task; you'll never really play the same game twice. Tonics are more passive abilities like helping you hack faster or making you stronger. The only way for you to get adam is to defeat one of the Big Daddies. Once this giant creature is killed you'll have a moral choice whether to save the little sister and get a small amount of adam, or kill her to get it all. All these moral choices affect the story.

The game should take 20 hours if you rush it on easy, but you'll get the full experience if you play it on medium and take your time and explore. The graphics are great with very life like water and the amazing art work really makes you feel that you’re in the 50's. The game explains most of the story with tape recordings people left and ghosts to help you see what the people of rapture were thinking about, instead of non interactive cut-scenes. From regular people to crazed surgeons you really get the picture of what Rapture was like near the end. You also see what it was like before from commercials and billboards, and just listening to the Splicers talk. The old music is perfect for the time and really creeps you out. In conclusion one thing people complain about is the combat, but with the large amount of plasmids and weapons you imaginations really the limit. My only real complaint is that after playing it for awhile it became quite choppy, hopefully they can find a way to fix this in an update because it takes away from the experience and can make things frustrating when it stops every few seconds. This is definitely a must buy for any Xbox 360 owner and an instant classic. This game sets a new benchmark for what’s possible in a game.
