Bioshock does what its creators wanted....to set the bar for first person shooters.

Now. This. Is. A. Game. First Person Shooters has had its share of games that redefined the genre what with Perfect Dark, Half-Life, Doom, Halo and so on and so forth. Now here is the next generation. Bioshock is the story of a man left for dead after his plane crashes out in the middle of the atlantic ocean and with only sourse of rescue, a bathysphere leading to some unknown destination. This introduction is on par with that of half-life 2 or the original great intro, the previous half life. You are kinda thrown into an underwater utopia known as Rapture, led by the creator, andrew ryan. The art deco style and 50's and 60's music really sucks you in and holds you there, weather you like it or not. The game has a feeling of a jules verne and stephen king colaberation while talking to bary bonds about his "juicing". The Graphics are suberb and entrap you and really make you feel as if you are underwater and must servive. The lighting is dark and and subtle and can creep you out. Also the gameplay makes this game unlike any other. You have two sides of the story, the FPS shooting run and gun (more like creep and gun) and then the RPG stratigic Plasmid side where you can stratigise and make your best decisions. That line isn't a strait line, it blurs....you can mix these things together. Put a proximity grenade on the celing and then place the whirlwind trap underneath and when an enemy walks over it they get launched into the celing where a grenade is waiting for em'. things like that make this game worth playing. Along with the grand scale gameplay you have the overall astounding story. A story like this doesn't come around offten enough for first person shooters and is done so gracefully. Thats the thing about this game. Games like this don't come around often.

Bioshock is a must buy for anyone and everyone looking for a great game to creep you out, stun you, shock you, and allaround make your 360 the entertainment for a while.
