I am SHOCKED by BioShock. (in good and bad ways)
Controlls are nice standard layout with a nice heal buttion (if you use it) how ever the only way you can reload EVE is buy running out... this is both a curse and a blesssing it hurts when your low on eve and you wana use a move and you have to run out before you can reload but it also saves you from acidentaly clicking a use EVE booster buttion and waisting it. every thing else is great. Acuracy with most weps is good but the recoil on the machine gun takes some time to adjusts. Also most weps dont have zoom (or Iron Sights) half the time you cant see what your shooting its soo dark that you dont care.
Gameplay is good and the powerups make game play stricktly how you like it if you good at sneaking and you got the wrench powerups 1hit kills are easy. Pistol is easy to kill the regualr guys but does not pack a punch vs most other people untill you upgrade it or use diffrent ammo (also another great feature). The use of the environment is great along side your abilitys to manipulate it from electracuting water to lighting up oil... putting a security bug on your enemy... enrage and hypnotise Big Daddy its all great. Sneaking around and Hacking traps is fun if you know what your up against and this is where my first HUGE complaint is. In most FPS now (COD2 & 3, The Darkness, Gears of War) you have no health bar and you regian life kind of a god like experience and most ventrans felt this took away the skill of the game... and in fact it did so Bio shock gave you a health bar and did what F.E.A.R did and gave you any time use health packs i like it now i cant go all guns first i gotta plan things out. Now if you have a respawn you cannot pull a Prey and have it so you respawn without the level reseting to the last save/cheack point. The Darkness did this the right way however bio shock alows you to repawn after you die and still have done every thing you did before you died and yes i mean every thing... i have a complante becuase it became just a time issue for me to kill the first 4 Big Daddys all i did was hithim a few times die, respawn and repeat.... not so smart i do agree that this games has things ihave never seen done in a game beofre ( First boss healed him self on me by running to a heath resotre thing on the wall.... i was pissed yet amazed) and the pure idea alone is great but you dont give people a health bar and health packs and give them a respawn like that they cancel each other out. If ADAM was so important make the game a little easyer and then when were stronger let us kill the big daddys in a good battle not wash, rinse and repate way every one has been doing. now that i got that out of the way the boss fights have been amazing. The little sister idea how you can harvest ( i think its 100+ ADAM) or resuce (80 ADAM)... i have only rescued so far is nice it gives players an option... most people will only save for the achivement and the little gifts yo get along the way ( and yes its worth it). Sounds are great and with 5.1 acurate to position in the room (within reason) and every thing is about the best i have seen in a 360 game FPS.
To end this review i end it with one more issue... No multipalayer or even online Coop or any Co op options. what is up with that i wana kill guys with super powers and stuff... shur rhe game's online will last aslong as Prey's did (LOL not long trust me you cant find anyone on that) but it would have been fun for a short time. Other than that this game is a good one if your not big into FPS's and dont belive the hype rent it.
