a fun exciting and innovative shooter that will leave you sickly satisfied

Bioshock takes you inside the brilliany city of rapture, where you're set to fight against a group of maniacs called the Splicers. I could go into detail, but its alot to take in., because for once a shooter has a story worth paying attention to. The story is intruging complex, and even has a nice twist at the end (there are 3 endings). The most resounding feature of the game is its glorious visuals. No game has ever looked better. You can almost see the salt in the water, and feel blood from oncomming enimies splater all over your face. The game is also quite a bit deeper than it might let on. The plasmids, which are abilities you get to help you on your killing way, come to you in stagering numbers, and with the tonics (other abilities that affect you more than your enimies) the overall number totals out to over 50. There is more to the depth, though. You can also do everything from upgrading your weapons to making your own ammo. The game also uses a very nice "think to kill" system where the idea is to mix your plasmids with the enviroment to cause as much devistation as possibe. The idea is nice, but turns out to be on the shallow side, with only one or two ways to actually utilize the sytem, and the enemy AI is at its lowest point in this game. They run at you, they attack you, you catch them on fire, they run for water, you electricute the water. It works everytime. Each enemy has a set combat system which keeps them from thinking on their own, but despite this, in their sheer numbers you will find points of difficulty. Not to mention the big dadies that will crush you for a long while. The only other downfall of the game is that it chugs a bit when going to a plasmid screen (the opening screen that shows you what your new plasmid can do) at certain points. It is minimul, and i wouldnt have even bothered mentioning it if it wasnt for the fact that it does get scary at points when it seems that the game froze. This game still has so much to offer and in comparison to its few problems this game has no truble keeping up with the big boys. Will this game be better than even Halo 3????? : P
