Bioshock creates a great combat formula, but when the one-two plasmid/weapon punch gets old, the visuals, storyline, and immersive world are enough to keep you engaged to the very end. The voice-acting is phenomenal, and it doesn't take one much effort to plunge their mind into the reality that is Rapture. Does a phenomenal job of respawning new enemies, even in places that you've already been to but might be backtracking...making it impossible to relax at any point. I was skeptical when I downloaded the demo. Sure, it looks great and the 15 minutes of gameplay it gave me kept me entertained; but I wondered if I would remain that way through the games entirety...seeing as the combat tactics you use in the beginning can basically carry you through to the end (learned that from the reviews I read). I'm happy to say that it does. It's a great game and worth renting if not owning. I wish it had some sort of multiplayer, but I respect the developers for not giving in to that current trend and risking it being sub-par. I highly recommend the game, but I also realize that it might not be for everyone. Download the demo first, and if you like it, you'll like the rest of the game.
