Bioshock is an amazing under-water sci-fi FPS adventure
First off the story is one of the best story's i have ever experienced in a shooter, It's starts off quite slow and for the first few hours the story is not very clear which in my mind was a good thing, i kept wondering why im i doing these task's for a man i do not know, but i felt like i had to help him and i wanted to, i guess that's just my nature and i would help someone i didnt know in real life if possible.
I found the audio recordings gave quite a bit of insight into what had been going on down in rapture.
The story is paced very well and keeps you wanting more, There are some excellent twists and turns along the way and it feels like an interactive book.
I found the gunplay to be excellent and very satisfying while using the shotgun and cross bow, the grenade launcher and flame thrower still worked well but was not as satisfying as other weapons.
Plasmids add so much depth to the combat, mixing plasmids, weapons and environments ensure's the gameplay never becomes stale or repetitive, if anybody found combat boring they just had no imagination and were just running and gunning.
The ai in the game is good they dont do anything really fantastic but they also dont do anything wrong.
There is not many enemy type's in the game, a few variations on the splicer and big-daddy's but it works well.
The sound is amazing, if you have a 5.1 surround sound system this will blow your socks off, sound is very eerie and helps greatly towards the spookiness of the game.Voice acting is also is done very well.
Bioshock has some of the best graphics in terms of technical and artisitic, great lighting and textures.
Overall bioshock is one of the best games ive ever played and so far is my number one game for game of the year.
Bioshock is more than just your typical first person shooter, primarily it is a shooter but irrational have brought quite a few unique elements to a very competitive genre.
