When I first picked up this game I was hesitant to place it in my 360 with the fear that it wouldn’t live up to the hype that preceded it, but I sure am glad I did. This game has been an immersive experience from start to finish with not a single moment that I wasn’t on my toes. The mood of this game was set right from the start as you see a man brutally murdered by the games grunts “splicers” which rightfully depicts how unforgiving Rapture is to the weak. From this point you are constantly checking to see if there is a splicer wandering near you and watching your back, and with the background noises fading in and out during game play, you feel like there is always something right behind you.

To counter the ever-present enemies you are given both a variety of weapons, and the games originality, plasmids. These two “weapon” types can be mixed well to help support each other during game play, and never feel out of place, or over-powering.

The story within this game is wonderfully done and with the addition of the tape recordings spread throughout Rapture, there is quite a twisted web that has gone on between a few of the main characters, and it is one that I was glad to get caught in.

All in all, this is an amazing game that has exceeded in all aspects of game play, story, and the horror mood that it presented. If you haven’t played this game yet, would you kindly…
