Bioshock is just amazing at every aspect of the game. There's horror, addicting gameplay, and just the right amount of blood. You start out as an average person that enters the "perfect" society of Rapture. Little do you know that the residents are crazed for ADAM and minipulates their body to have powers. They go insane and kills anyone they see. And that anyone just happens to be you. This insane group of people are called splicers. Why? Because they splice the ADAM from the parasites that own them. Big dadies protect little sisters and those sisters have the parasite that you need. You need to get through the big dadies to get the ADAM and greatly improve your body. Your mission is simple. Kill Fontaine. Though you learn this near the middle of the story in the game, you learn in the guide that he created the plasmids that harmed Rapture. This game is highly addictive and highly recommended.
