I wasn't really impressed when i heard about bioshock a couple months ago, but i was wrong.this game is great, it is the most frightening game i 've played since resident evil 4, yeah its that good. With one of the freshest and darkest atmospheres ever concieved, bioshock puts most games this year to shame. It is nothing less than a masterpiece and is one of the 360's best titles. It shines brightly with its unbelievably good gameplay and story. Preferably the story though, its feels like a grade A detective/horror novel. Andrew Ryan denied the outside world and decided to create his own world.Rapture, a world surrounded by water, hidden deep in the atlantic. A city for man, not for gods and kings. Incidentaly your plane crashes and you end up trapped in this nightmare. Rapture was once a beautiful place until everything went wrong. Believe me, this games story will impress you. its dark and it has a twist worthy of a hollywood blockbuster. And its all wrapped up in a tight pretty bow.

Gameplay wise its the same, you are free to do anything you like, you can explore rapture or complete the story in first person. I like how the fp perspective gives you a sense that you are in the game and you are the lead character.Combat is simple, you start out with nothing but a wrench and work your way up to bigger goodies, such as rocker launchers, machine guns, pistols etc. But its the plasmids that make the game special. Plasmids are basically your special abilites in the game and each one is diffrent. The best part about it is that you can do spectactular things with them, for example: you can shock your enemies if there in watere, you can incinerate ice, and freeze your enemies till you smash them to bits. This makes the gameplay fresh, offering new ways to play the game as eveyones tastes are diffrent. Tonics are just the same, they effect your physical and mental strengths. But combat/exploration is the core aspect in bioshock, it is down right freaky, you will not know where the splicers come from as they attack from all directions, so you have to stay on your toes and have quick reflexes. its also very challenging too, theres nothing like facing a big daddy and deciding whether to harvest or save a child. The choice will effect the game and its ending so you most likely will play this again. And yes, this game will the scare you. Everything from the 50s' music to the splicers in the dark, the interesting dialouge and the story.

But theres gotta be something wrong with a game right? well, its pretty tough to find something wrong with bioshock, as it is nearly perfect. One thing i hate is that there is too many objectives where you will have to find or build something as it will take a decent time, its not that bad but its nothing compared to the other glamorous missions in the game. and you do it often. Also the endings are way too short, yes multiple but its not a good way to end the game. Another bad thing about the game is its hacking, you do this way too much too as it is also frustrating, the game has tonics to slow the timers down but its too difficult to handle. But im just being nitpicky, these are minor complaints and they dont destroy the game. Other than that Bioshock is a must play as you will have a hauntingly good time. We are going to remember this for ages. go get your feet wet boy.
