I first played this game at my friends house and instantly fell in love with it. I was a fan of the original system shock, so I knew I would like it, but I was not ready for how well polished this game is. The first thing that blew me away about this game was its atmosphere. Immediately you are thrust in the dark world of rapture (after probably the most stunning plane crash in a videogame), a twisted vision of the forties with obvious design references to Ayn Rand novels. The graphics are stunning with amazing lighting effects and possibly the most beautiful water effects in a game. The combat is extremely fun with many weapons to choose from (all customizable) that become further and further mechanized the more you tune them. The game is scary enough to make someone jump (thanks to the amazing soundtrack/effects/voice acting)but is not extremely disturbing. I highly reccomend this game to anyone who wants to play an amazing story driven shooter with amazing graphics, physics, and combat.
