Although a bit depressing this game is still a masterpiece and everyone should own a copy.

Games like Bioshock don't appear often on the shelves. The shooter genre has been mainly dominated by repetitive, monotonous World War 1 and 2 shooter games, following the same methods as every other game.
1. Enter room/building
2. Kill everyone in the room/building
3. Move into next room/building
Bioshock gives the player something relatively new the shooter genre.
