Birds of Steel is a true masterpiece, and while it might be frustrating to the new pilots, the game is fantastic.

Overall, I really don't play flight games or simulators. I was lucky to stumble across Birds of Steel at the store. The game is absolutely amazing, the graphics are unbelievable, and the online is great. The campaign allows the player to fight famous dogfights in WWII as either the U.S. or Japan. It is really fun, but the real entertainment is in the online multiplayer. The games are simple but very good. Unfortunately, this game can be difficult for players new to the genre. Don't expect to shoot down a ton of planes and never crash. I see many players that go through entire games with no kills and a few deaths. This game isn't Call of Duty; you need to be a skilled gamer or practice a lot to get multiple kills and few deaths in an online battle. Plus, you have to pay for repairs, so Kamikaze methods are expensive. The Hangar is where you can purchase new and better planes. Trust me, you need good planes to win. Birds of Steel has a great number of memorable WWII aircraft. Unfortunately, you need to buy planes in specific order. It gets annoying purchasing four planes just to reach the one plane you really want, and earning the money to buy planes takes time. Also, planes have level requirements. You receive good planes to start, but it takes a lot of time to reach higher ranks to get the best planes. Overall, this game is fantastic. Newcomer's beware: this game isn't easy. I would recommend renting the game before you buy it. For the Aces, this game is a dream come true.
