An example of an overhyped game that just doesn't live up to the expectations.

On one hand Black is a pretty good fps, on the other, there was so much hype surrounding this game that it just doesn't live up to it. That said, if you're looking for a new fps on Xbox definately check it out. The story is pretty standard military covert op kinda stuff. Black is all about shooting. You just run through each level shoot the bad guys move on shoot more bad guys, etc. Halfway through the game I felt like I was shooting the same 2 bad guys over and over. That got a little distracting, but that is not to say shooting them is no fun. All of the game mechanics work well and feel right. I don't really care for when you reload everything in front of you gets blurry and you can only see your weapon clearly. Ok so they did that for realism, well Rainbow Six 3, Ghost Recon, or SWAT 4 have realism up and down. Black is pretty much an arcade shooter no need for that in my opinion. On the graphics side of things, Black is rather pretty at a distance.
Nice lighting and partical effects. You can blow up a lot of things in this game. One distractings thing is when you get closer to objects and walls, you can see white lines on the surfaces. As if "hey I will break apart if you shoot here." The game is really short so maybe a rental is the best way to go. I was done in 5 1/2 hours. So if you need some, as they say "gun porn" for your Xbox check it out.
