I'd have to agree with just about everything that Gamespot.com has said about this game. Visually the game is stunning and the grapics are, for the most part, smooth and create a very realistic and sometimes creepy enviornment. That having been said, I am a little disappointed with how short Black falls with regards to its pre-release hype. Advertisements for the game would have you believe that this is the greatest shooter to ever grace the XBox and PS2. Unfortunately that hype is of no real substance. The game itself is fun and plays pretty smoothly however the guns are repititious and each gun variety has little to no difference from the others except for range and recoil. Shotguns are useless in this game I suggest trading up whenever you can but choose wisely as you can carry only two guns at a time. There is no blood in this game either which really sucks considering that if you do not shoot an enemy in the head, you will have to fire about 30-40 rounds into the bastard to kill him. Explosions are cool but I don't think they are as great as some would have you believe. The story on this joint also sucks tons and the worst part about it is that you have to sit through boring ass cut scenes between missions. Oh, and the game is super short and leaves little to no desire to play it a second time through. No multiplayer or game variations are available making this a pretty much one dimensional first person shoot em up kind of an endeavor. Bummer, I expected more. Wait for this one on greatest hits or hit Gamefly.com or wherever to rent it. If you know your way around a shooter than this game will take no longer than a saturday (and that includes bathroom breaks and burger/beer runs).
Black was a hyped first person shooter that was suppose to deliver an explosive, destructible, chaotic shooter, which it did. The story is quite addicting. In Black you start off with a cut scene with real actors. You... Read Full Review
Apparently the PS2 isn’t dead. Then again, that’s what they said about 2Pac and he hangs out at my place all the time. EA and Criterion, a team better known for creating “Burnout” titles, joined forces to create a pixel ... Read Full Review
