Although the reason for this game... AKA Save your mutated FROG.... could have been better the game itself makes up for it. Game is actually in 2 parts, the first is the outside world where you spend the majority of your time in your SuperTank. The second is each individual level where you leave your Tank to investigate and destroy Boss enemies in search of your pet. But each Boss gives you an upgrade to the Tank so you can progess to the next level. Such as Hover Wheels, Missles, swimming & climbing abilities. As the person is where most of the up close and personal action takes place as all you have is a pistol (which can be upgraded) and Grenades. But they seem to be effective as you face screen size Boss enemies. Graphics are pretty good for a NES game and the gameplay is easy to learn (even easier with the NES advantage joystick). Some of the Hovering levels can be tricky but with practice you can get through them. One of my personal favorites for the NES system Blaster Master is worth putting the effort into it, only bad thing is that you cant save it so you have to go through the entire game in one shot. Hard, but not impossible because I've done it. Just be patient.
