Finally, the DS gets a good fighter!

While the DS has had great RPGs and platformers in spades, it has suffered dearly in the fighting games department. Bleach Dark Souls helps this issue -big time.

For starters, the character roster is large and diverse. Not a Bleach fan myself, but I was taken aback by the wide range of characters and their respective move sets. For a handheld fighting game, BDS roster is staggering.

Many of the special attacks can be executed "Capcom fighter" style via half-circle/quarter-circle movements. The ability to switch-up the various "cards" for enhanced abilities, damage, damage reduction, dodging is a big plus.

The graphics are colorful, detailed and gorgeous. It completely captures its Anime inspired feel. And the decision to go 2D was a smart one, it keeps things deceptively simple.

If you're itching for a fight and own a DS, I highly recommend Bleach Dark Souls.
