It hits, and it hits very hard.

User Rating: 8.4 | Blitz: The League PS2
Blitz: The League returns to its roots which made it so well known. We all know that Madden NFL 06 has the exclusive license to the NFL, but that isn't stopping Midway of creating a league of their own. In this game, all the teams and players are made up, and I have to give a round of applause to Midway for making this game so fun. The League doesn't rely on realism, like Madden does, which arguably brings the game does. No, it relies on pure arcady fun and action. New this time around is a story mode (which is horrible, really). After losing to a high ranked team, your created tema must go up the ranks to try and take on your rival, the New York Nightmare. There is also an Unleash option, which is like slow motion, where you can see any holes in the defense, so you can get a touchdown much easier. You can also use this technique on offense. The good things about this game is that anyone can just pick it up and play, it is very fun to play, and you can make a team of your own, and if any one of your players is injured, you have the option of either healing him or "juicing" him. The bad things are that it looks like a mess, the story mode is lacking in story, and the loading times is just plain bad on the PS2. Besides these flaws, Blitz: The League is definitely worth your time, and this is arguably the best Blitz game in a long time.
