I was thouroughly impressed by this game. As a Sudden Strike fan, seeing that this game was published by the same company as Sudden Strike, I figured that it was going to be somewhat the same. It is about the same, but better. That is, Burning Horizon and Rolling Thunder, the expansion packs were better. The original Blitzkrieg pretty much sucked because they just reused the same maps over and over and you had the same mission over and over except for Stalingrad mission and the last couple missions in the Soviet campaign.
One thing for sure, DO THE TUTORIALS! They help. As far as graphics go, 2d graphics, tire tracks etc. will appear on the map when vehicles or tanks are driving, rain, snow, that's about it. As far as sound, there isn't much. Some music plays in the background and your units will say things when you click on them. You can also hear thunder and rain when it is raining. Of course you can hear combat noises also. Hope my review helped!
