Seemingly the underdog, blur turns out to be awesome!

Its been a while since I have had so much fun playing a car racing game on my pc since burnout paradise. Blur turned out to be a game that i absolutely love! Activision proved yet again that there is no parallel to them when it comes to combat, first person or otherwise. There are a handful of powers that make the game fun to play. Each has its importance and is useful in certain situations. The only thing that bugs me is that the 'Shunt" power although looks to be the most powerful, has a rather underwhelming punch. It may make the car to flip but it still feels underpowered. Rest of the powers are good.

The career is awesome. Its lenghty and challenging. Fan challenges are an added bonus cum challenge which make the gameplay more immersive. That said, its also pretty hard. The opponents will be fiercely competetive right from the start and you will not be able to win the 'Lights' very easily. Some may find it frustrating.

The menu design is good and conveys the mood of the racing aptly. The sound is also great. The sounds of engines and power ups have both been done nicely.

The car selection is good too. I would have been happier if they were customisalbe.Visually, its pleasing. The visual effects of the power ups is rather good; so are the collision effects. The graphics are a bit cartoon-y but gel well with the feel of the game.

Blur is a stand out in its genre. Its fast, furious and fun.
