I really enjoyed the Starship Troopers movie. That said, I love Body Harvest. Vehicles, insects, puzzles and weapons.A+
So you have a time machine, you have to go back in time to they way people use to live, use their vehicles in that era and protect them from the alien invasion, the 'harvest'.
This game was well thought out and well designed. I hate the invisible barriers of any game, especially racing.(but thats another story.. put up a fence at least.. arghgh) This game addressed that problem by having an invisible blue force shield bubble that the alien harvest places on a town to prevent the people from escaping. When you beat this boss, there is a break in it and you can continue to the next level\town.
Another point of how they thought it out, when you receive a message, the designers incorporated a needle that will inject you with the message and emotions to receive it in nanoseconds. This is to keep you engrossed in the game and to understand why the game paused. Pretty neat.
The game has many, many vehicles, trucks, cars, motorcycles, boats, fire trucks, planes, all in many different varieties. Each era changes the vehicles of course.
The levels are huge and wide open for you to explore. I think Java is my favorite stage. You are in a jungle, it is raining and its so fun to splash across rivers and thru puddles with the jeep.
Sound effects are top notch in my opinion. A surround system pumps out the rifles reverb, the screech of the aliens dieing. All done very well.
This game is a Shootem up point A - to B game with a few puzzles along the way, find this, find that. Pull this lever for bonus items.
A few nice points are that you can turn the lights on and off in the houses\buildings and they will always remain like that.
Anyway its a great game for me because it has guns, tanks with crazy guns, very nice level designs that captures the era you are in. It has alien disstruction and just overall interesting game that has alot of variety to it.
If you like vehicle games and shooting, how could you not give this game a plus rating?
