Who would habe thought the even the Turbographx 16 would have a Bomberman? Then again, it's not too surprising. Bomberman has appeared on pretty much every console since his first game.

Bomberman '93 is your standard Bomberman game. you're a little guy who sets boms down on a playing field, trying to clear the screen of enemies. Along the way, you can obtain powerups which allow you to set several bombs at a time, kick bombs that have already been set or allow you to take 1 hit without dying.

The enemies come in all varieties, ranging from ones who simply walk around, to some who can fly over obsticles, or make themselves temporarily invincible to your bombs. The variety is great, and adds interesting strategy to the game. After clearing the screen, you need to find a warp hole hidden behind one of the destructable blocks in the play field. This will warp you to the next level where a who new set of challenges awaits you.

Included is Bomberman's famous multiplayer mode, where up to 5 people are left in a dungeon of some type, and fight to the death. The last man standing wins. Using a combination of Wii Remotes and Game Cube controlers, 5 player simultanious play is possible. This is the best part of the game. You can easily kill hours wil some friends playing the multiplayer. There are several maps to choose from for multiplayer, all of which are creative and have things to help or hurt you.

Bomberman has never been about graphics. The world is simple, but the enemies are creative. All the objects are clear and colourful.

The sound disapoints a bit. There are few music tracks, so you will likely hear the same things several times. The sound effects are stand Bomberman fare, with good explosions.

Bomberman '93 is a great choice for a Virtual Console game, because it's cheap, fun and addictive. It is challenging, but never tedious. For $6, it's well worth the money.
