Borderlands 2 Finally Arrives, With A New Story, Characters and Loot. It's A Winner

User Rating: 8 | Borderlands 2 X360

Borderlands 2 was released just recently, I already knew it was coming out and pre-ordered myself a copy of the game. The moment it arrived on my doorstep, I played it and the fond memories of the original Borderlands came to mind. The looting returned, killing a group of bandits rewarded me with a loot of weapons and equipment. I missed that, since I finished the original game.

Then came the choice of four characters, which made the game even more enticing as there were so many options for me to play the game. I could play as a simple grunt Soldier type, and use turrets and heavy weapons or go the more silent way with an enhanced Assassin character.

Pandora has also changed for the better with new environments to explore, and complete quests within.

Some may play Borderlands 2, who have played the original but did not really expect much from the sequel will think its just a rehash of the original and nothing new to it.

I can see why those gamers would believe that, unless you wanted more of Borderlands in the form of a sequel you won't enjoy this as much as the original. There are new things to this sequel, but slight improvements and nothing that can really make it stand out as a totally brand new game.

For those who wanted more Borderlands, they won't be disappointed as the sequel as many quests to undertake and far-reaching story-arcs as well.

With my copy of Borderlands 2 I received Mechromancer Pack which added another character to use in the game, this came free with my copy of the game or was included in the price of my copy so that added a bit extra for what I paid for it.

In all, I think if you completed every quest in Borderlands 2 the game should take about 40 hours or more to finish.

The Good:

- A new story, and characters involved in a new take on Pandora.

- Loot and weapons return in bulk, you will always have a new weapon to sell or to use.

- Quests are both large and small, covering the new environments of the planet.

- New characters give you a lot more range in gaming options of tackling quests and enemies.

The Bad:

- It seems like nothing new has been added to this sequel, the graphics are touched up but that's the only real visual improvement.

Recently I bought a PS3, and a PlayStation Plus membership with it and since I sold my Xbox 360, I was happy to see Borderlands 2 being given away for free to members of PlayStation Plus, so I downloaded it and have been playing it again, to try and finish it this time on the PS3.
