Borderlands is the perfect FPS/RPG that any shooting fan would fall in love with. The multiplayer also is very good.
The gameplay is just fantastic, if you havent played a demo or rented it, dont worry playing it the first time round is just a blast. The FPS elements are right intact where they should be and the cool leveling up system just works well. Although the sharing of goodies isnt very good, but still you just simply have to drop some stuff then have your partner(s) pick them up. The RPG elements to feel at home, which is a very good thing. You level up by killing dudes and skags (which are ugly dog looking things) and also completing tasks by anybody willing to pay for your mercenary services'. You then can pick ways to make your self better like giving you more ammo, bigger health amount, and even making your special abilitie sstonger and makes them last longer. In the begining of the game you choose to be one of 4 chracters. Brick (the badass), Sniper dude who snipes, Ronald (The soldier/shootumup expert), or the chick whos the siren/ sneaky spec ops sorta chick. The choices are great and fit any body's style. You like sniping? be the snipe dude, like shooting everything you see, be Ronald (like myself), like being sneaky and turning invisible, be the chick, like being tottally badas then be Brick. ITs just great and equals out great. All the gameplay is good, oh and did i mention there is literally 250 million, and im not kiddind what so ever. The world your on is where gang leaders, dump there old weaponary. That just equals pure awesomeness and fun. You can find guns in the garbage, toilets, lockers, beds, and even dead corpes'. Excellent gameplay, just flat out excellent.
From a graphical perspective this game has a unique look. It has an artitistic, sorta of painting desighn. More of a comic book look its awesome and hard to describe. You just have to see for yourself.
The story is pretty shallow and doesnt offer much, your just a mercenary on the terrible planet of Pandora. Your dumped off theere after you pick one of the 4 chracaters and you must go to mercenary posts to find jobs that help you gain experiance and find your way to the vault. The vault is the main story, your there to find a rumor that may be real. The vault is a room with money and weapons thats so stocked up that your set for life. Very shallow but theres still a need to care about it.
All in all this game is great and the FPS/RPG thing they got going on, is pretty darn good.
