If you love or even liked Fallout 3, then you would enjoy this!
Visually the cell shaded environment and barren waste land looks just excellent. When you start you can pick from four different classes that have there own special abilities and are better in specific fields than others. Ok on my first whim playing Borderlands it felt just like Fallout 3 but as I progressed through the game its there are some key differences about them. First when I started playing money and ammo were easy to come across, I find I have too much ammo because when im on a mission I can only pick up the ammo for the gun im using so that's a good thing. Health is never an issue, may be scarce when on harder later on missions but is still not an issue. Weapons can be found anywhere in the wasteland either from buying them to finding them in weapon crates or when enemies drop them. And every weapon is different you can pick up the same shotgun up twenty times and each one will have different specs. One major point im glad there is, is a Co op multiplayer that can support up to four people in one game. There are some missions later in the game and on the new game plus that are pretty tough but playing them on co op are easier. This hasn't happened to me but have heard this is people hoarding in the multiplayer. Its not that bad but can be frustrating. One downside is the customization to your character that other RPGs offer. You can change up to three different colors on your character but there is no armor or clothing to change the look of your.
Summary: Great combination of FPS and RPG elements. Good character selection with own unique abilities and character building. Plenty of ammo. Millions of weapons. Health is never an issues, can be scarce in harder missions. Excellent multiplayer. Very little customization.
