The marriage of an FPS and a Diablo-esque RPG: great idea... at first.

This game is great fun (at least at the beginning), filled with fun battles (at first), interesting weapons and items (at first), in an awesome setting (at first). Around the 15th hour of play, however, the fun seems to be completely drained from the experience. Run or drive to X location, do Y, return back to mission giver, rinse and repeat. It's more interesting than, lets say Fallout 3, but it really becomes boredom inducing. The combat is great and responsive, but shooting the same bandits who behave in the same stupid fashion gets old really fast. Eventually the only reason to play the game is not for enjoyment but to level up and increase your kill counts with X weapon with X elemental effects on X enemy.

More or less, it's like playing a FPS of Runescape.

Other than the Siren, the other classes are completely uninteresting with uninteresting skills.

How is it that a co-op game can become boring? Maybe it's the length of the game? I find Left 4 Dead far more successful as a map rarely goes over 3 hours (unless your team sucks on the hardest difficulty) , and there is more randomness thrown in.

This game is graphically beautiful and it has a good sense of humor but it just becomes too painful to play.
