Loot, Shoot and have a Hoot!

Borderlands is a great experience whether or not you have a few friends along for the ride. I've spent 95% of my time with the game playing solo and I think that you shouldn't believe it when people say the game isn't fun solo, because it is! And its still a real blast! The main selling points of Borderlands are simple, FPS + RPG + Lots of guns + 'Cartoon" Graphics, and a lot of violence. And its these core elements that make it shine. These features all blend together well and make the experience enjoyable unlike 'similar' games such as Fallout 3, where it feels as if they sacrificed shooting elements for more role-playing elements, however this simply isn't the case with Borderlands. The controls feel tight and manageable (there almost identical to COD for all the fanatics out there) and both the shooting and role-playing elements work well together. For the most part of the gameplay you'll find yourself exploring the barren yet beautiful areas as you kill the wildlife, fight against the bandits, search for loot and finish quests all with one common goal. Becoming more powerful. Levelling up and upgrading your arsenal are perhaps the two most important things in Borderlands and after you've done these things, you can take it online and show off your power to the world! (Or the three other people along side you).
Overall, Borderlands is a great gaming experience. Its quirky humor, different characters and over the top violence combined with the other factors i've mentioned make it a near flawless experience. Although the game does lack a few things, namely, soul. It almost feels like the game is just saying "Here I am, play me". When it should be saying "Welcome to Borderlands, I hope you brought clean underwear". The second disappointment is the story, specifically the climax which in fact, is very anti-climactic. But don't let these negatives sway your judgement. Its a great game and is worth sinking in the hours, trust me.
