It took me a while to finally start to play Borderlands, but when I finally did, I was blown away. This game is beautiful in addition to the great gameplay and "fun" attitude this game portrays. The comic book styling of the game makes it very pleasing to the eye, and the game play sucks you in for hours and hours. Combat is level appropriately difficult. What I mean by this is that the fights that you encounter that are rated at a level the same as your own or lower usually isn't too bad, but anything higher than your skill level, and your looking to get your ass kicked. Weapons are completely random, but usually you'll find a better weapon if you go exploring and looting in different areas. The guns you buy at the vending machines tend to be a little more dull, but the reset every so often so there is fresh products to choose from. There are plenty of side quests to pursue to help level up to continue on with the game like any other RPG, but it doesn't seem to be as arduous as other games such as Fallout 3, etc. This game isn't complicated. Its very straight forward and just about anybody can figure it out with a little bit of gameplay. When I played Fallout 3, it seemed like there was limitless combinations of things that could occur, or you could create that could become very time consuming and doesn't really add to the progression of the game. With Borderlands, just about everything you do adds to your level progression and helps you progress without too much trouble. I can easily spend hours playing this game without getting burned out because it becomes so immersive and fun.
