A fun expansion to a already great game.
Story:
The story is you wander off to place in Pandora called Jacobs cove. It was built by the Jacobs corporation. You are tasked to see what happened to it since no one seems to be coming in or out of Jacobs cove. Yet when you get there something is not right..people are zombies and there are monsters all over. You have to find out what happened and put an end to it. The story is kinda funny and there are some very funny moments.
Gameplay:
The same exact thing as borderlands they added nothing new in terms of menus or quest logs. The only thing that really changes is some weapons and creatures that you fight. You mostly fight zombies and there are a ton of them. Some range to easy to very very hard. There is also a nice selection of monsters from were wolves to a chainsaw wielding maniac with a pumpkin for a head.
The area map is large, yet not as big as the main game's map. Also there is a decent amount of quest options that range from boring fetch missions to a very fun hold the ground until rescue comes from zombies. The add-on is lengthy and it can be a great place to harvest some xp because some enemies are brutal and at times can be a ton of them on screen at once.
Finally the loot...well the loot is hit and miss. There are some devastating weapons or mods that you can unlock that I still use in the game. Yet there are some weapons or mods that are pure garbage and you will quickly sell to the vendors without a second glace.
Audio:
The same as borderlands really some new music here and there and some new dialogue options from 2 old favorites.
Graphics:
Imagine borderlands just darker..the zombies though look cool.
Pro's
Some awesome loot, when you beat it you can always revisit it, a nice place to harvest xp, some very cool missions, there are some very funny moments, 2 old characters come back.
Con's
Honestly there is little to no innovation here everything is the same just different locale, still mission restrictive (if one person is ahead of you mission wise and you join their game you can't do that mission.), some missions are just boring, this game/add on is very boring if played by yourself.
Overall:
Overall I wish I could talk more about this add-on. Just did you enjoy borderlands? and wish you could play some more after completion of the game? if yes then get the DLC. If you were hoping the menu system was less clunkier or something new then sadly this DLC isn't for you.
