Borderlands is more than what it seems at first-all in all a very rewarding game!
Was I in for a surprise!This game rocks!From the opening when you get off the bus at your first "outpost"(there are many) to the ending; the game flows very well from area to area and stage to stage.The game has trophies to collect but it also awards your character exp. and dollars for in game achievements.
You will interact with a lot of people and many will give you quests to do.The game is a shooter but it is also an RPG type game wherre you level your character up and assign points to upgrade yourself or better your moves.
Very early inthe game you will get access to a dune buggy style vehicle which makes travel a lot quicker. Later you gain the ability to "warp" to other areas that you have visited.This is very handy!
There are too manys weapon to talk about. More than likely you will never see or own them all. Trade up and buy better when you get the chance.Some of the weapons have elemential damage that they can do. Some can do fire damage, other electricity and so on.A couple of the characters(Lilith) realy excells at using these type weapons.
The missions and side quests are fun and challenging.If you are the type of RPG player that likes to grind up levels, you can do than here.I would even suggest doing that for a while to complete certain achievements.You could avoid the side quests and just do the main storyline but a LOT would be missed. A lot of trophies would also not be gotten.
There are many different containers to open and find money or shields or better in.The chests do respawn after a period of time so it is possible to open the same container many times over.There is loot to be had.
The game has a lot of elements of Bioshock(2K did this game also) and also Fallout 3.Like Fallout 3 , bobbleheads are even it.There is also element of MW2 in it.
You get off the bus and come to this barren land is search of treasure. You have come to search for the "Vault", which may or may not exist.Oh the riches and fame that could be had if only tou could find it.Even a lot of locals in the game think the story of the vault is a crazy tale.
I recommend playing this game and finding out for yourself. There is also downloadable content to had and a very neat online feature where you can help or duel others.
I am hoping there will be more in this game series. This game is THAT GOOD.
