Kill Bill meets Mad Max

User Rating: 7.5 | Borderlands X360
Graphics and Environment: Background graphics are not to bad, it gives you a feel that you are on a world that has been destroy by some great devastation. The cartoon graphics took some getting used to; at first I did not enjoy it until I saw my first major structure. The graphics started to work for me. As the game progress there is more detail in the environments in which you travel through. Here is a good mark of a game. When your character travels around the map you can see a geographical location that you can use as a real point of location on the map.

Storyline: In the beginning of the story it moves really slow; just a bunch of jobs you can do at a board, or some people you meet at some early locations. There is a back story for a vault to hook the player, but it moves a little slow. It is not an in-depth story like (Fallout 3); not to be taking so serious as well. So with that in mind enjoy the music and the killing for I think that is what the developers where going for. As the game moves on the environments improve, but the characters remain two dimensional.

The last stand fits the story of the game when you're down you can keep pulling the trigger and take one more with you. The board jobs pick up and there is a little more depth to them, but if you are looking for more side stories you will not find that. They pretty much help get more xp and explore the world more.

Gameplay: The movement of the character and changing of weapons and buying equipment fits the mood of the game. The respawn of the enemies and loot is great, but at times it can be time consuming and tedious in trying to get from point A to B locations.

The last stand aspect of the game gives you hope to keep on killing. As my skills with my character and the vehicle improve it brought me back to the movement of Halo ONE. The vehicle can get stuck on buildings and other objects on the map that you would think not trap the vehicle to the point where it could not move.

Game Mechanics: Overall the game mechanics are not bad, however here are some of the issues I had; both good and bad. When you Iron sight down your rifle and you're taking cover the weapon will hit the cover in front of you and not the target why it looks like it should hit the target. At times enemies will fall through stairs and get stuck when there is a lot of action going on.
I like the jumping of the character it takes me back to the good old days of Halo; when you get that feeling of free fall within a jump. The music was done really well throughout the game as well.
At times why you are driving your vehicle may get stuck on something; like when land and water meets.

So in conclusion the end of this game reminds you are on one world in a bigger universe, so they may explore other aspects of the game. I have never been a big fan of big bosses, but the end of this game is worth it. Now the MP and the dlc are good I have only tried Zombie Island and the Armor of Knox. Which at this point are good, but with the dlc I would check each one out before getting it and see what you would get out of it. Such as gamer score and gaming enjoyment, so with all of this in mind the game was built in mind playing MP online, or with your buddies.
