Fun, crude, rude; easy to get lost in. Other players become the drawback.

So the new 2k game is finally released. I'll be touching on graphics, fun factor, gameplay, and multiplayer.

Graphics: 9 1/2

This game doesn't boast super ultra new sleek realistic graphics. It's a silly game, and they use cartoonish silly graphics, that are NOT bad. While the details are quite simple, they are still details; blood splashes, dust gets kicked up, and bullet holes pop up all over both baddies and the surrounding area. A lot of people think throw back to other cell shaded games, but it's not the same really, alot more fluid, in my opinion ofcourse. Gameplay: 8 1/2

The story, or plot or whatever, seems to get in the way more than anything. I'd rather it just gave us quests and let us rock. The assistant you get, the little robot is a CLEAR CUT RIP OFF OF GIR. They could not have that any more obvious about it. The dialogue in in the game is pretty good however, funny one liners, good intros, and to the point questing. Get this, kill that guy, or get over here; pretty straight forward. Run and gun isn't exactly easy, because even if you're a good aim with the crosshair, your character has an accuracy stat that will affect your shooting. Different classes with different "builds" are actually pretty much cookie cutter of each other. Make your gun stronger, aim better, or get some support stuff that will help the whole party. Instead of everyone having several different skills or talents, you get ONE "Action Skill". The soldier has a gun turret, hunter has a hawk, siren has invisibility, and brick goes beserk. Other than that, there are no more active type skills in the game, that I've seen.

Collect "shields" that are reminescent of Halo, however they each do different things, some regen faster, some give you health faster, some even cause an explosion around you if the shield goes down.

Multiplayer: 5 or 10

I gave this two scores, why? Well sometimes you get these jerks that just run around and open chests, do their own thing and don't help at all. These people make the game harder and don't help you with stuff. When I say they make the game harder, I mean everytime you join a game, or someone joins your game, the baddies get more health and more power; making it harder for you. Which is why you're supposed to fight together.

OTHER times, you get really fun to play with people, who will run and gun with you, and know how to play their classes; and it's simply a friggin blast. Having four people running around doing different things, or even four of the same class is just too much fun! A lot of fights involve multiple enemies, so this game is clearly designed for multiplayer.

Fun Factor: 20 (OUT OF 10)

This game is just SO MUCH FUN. From the dialogue of the NPC's to popping off baddy heads with the sniper rifle, this game is a fluid flow of fighting and crazy action. Enemies respawn after a while, so the weaker ones become good toys to try out your new guns on; getting Critical kills will remove a body part of the baddies, you can even fully gib some of them if your gun is strong enough. Ammo is constantly dropping off enemies, so they make sure you can keep the action rolling, if you're critically injured, you'll drop to a knee and "Fight for your life" which means you get to keep firing and have to try to kill a baddie so you can get a second win, which too is quite fun. (People can also heal you while you're in this state, incase no bad guys are around to kill)

There seems to be a good amount of variety to the bad guys, from midget forms of bandits, to flaming forms of "skags", which are odd dog like creatures. Boss encounters are fun and challenging, which also seem to be made specifically for multiplayer.

All in all if you're a fan of shooting, and rpgs; this is a worthy pick up. As someone said last night while we were playing together "Definitely better than Fallout so far".
