Braid is beautiful. Prepare for an emotionally charged adventure that will make you think outside of the box.
Game Play: 10/10
The game play is fantastic. The old school platformer style is really fun when mixed with the time rewind mechanic. The puzzles you need to solve are incredibly simple looking but incredibly complex and challenging. Some puzzles may take you a half hour to solve but that makes it so much more satisfying when you do solve them. There are enemies to stomp on and they play an important role in the puzzle solving. After a while different time mechanics are introduced such as, when you move so do your enemies which strongly makes puzzles more challenging. The boss fights take advantage of the time mechanics and are really fun. The game play is classic and fun.
Graphics: 10/10
The artistic directions in the graphics is brilliant. The graphics are moving paintings that are so beautiful and detailed. You will stare in awe as you progress through this brilliant artistic achievement.
Sound/Music: 9.0/10
The music is amazing and epic. Classically orchestrated. The emotions put through the music are inspiring. One problem, the enemy sound effects are really annoying. Music is great.
Story: 10/10
You play as Tim. A man in a suit searching for the princess. Thats it. Hes had a tough life and he wants to turn back time to switch the mistakes hes made. He searches for the princess because he thinks its his destiny. The story is very moving and will impact you for a while. You will want to discuss it with other people. It's amazing.
Value: 8.5/10
Braid is a very good game and the puzzles are thick and deep. But because the game is so short It's not exactly the most re-playable game out there.
