Short, but this "indie" game is definitely worth more then a pair of White Mochas from Starbucks.
I started it up, and within 10 minutes of playing I was bored. It was the typical save the Princess cliche, complete with jumping on rabbits that meow and dwarfs wobbling a predictable path. That was all to be expected, but I was looking forward to the innovation and creativity which has been advertised everywhere.
However, after a few hours of playing, Braid's creative style really shines through and it becomes a completely different kind of platformer. You really have to think outside of the box to complete the levels. The puzzles aren't particularly difficult, but I was tempted more than once to find a walkthrough. The way the game uses time as a tool is mindboggling and I haven't played a game like this before, at all.
When you complete a difficult puzzle, it gives you a great sense of accomplishment, much more than any platformer I've ever played. With that said, I reckon there isn't much replay value. Once you've figured out the puzzle, it ruins the whole experience. This also doesn't help because the game is rather short. If you're good, you can complete the whole thing in under 10 hours no problem.
I would definitely recommend this game and I strongly believe it's been money well spent. Now, I'm honestly glad I declined seeing Knowing in the theatre as this game is clearly the better alternative.
