Breakdown is a fairly good game, though it does have some problems.
This game has pretty good-looking graphics. Unfortunately, poor level design greatly detracts from the game. Every one bit of corridor looks pretty much the same as the next bit of corridor, and this quickly get old.
This game does offer up some unique gameplay ideas that, had they been implemented better, would have made this a truly great game. Unfortunately, they were not implemented very well. The combat system comes to mind. While the idea of First-Person combat is cool, the controls for it are a little too sluggish and there aren't really enough moves, and taking on multiple enemies can be absolute hell.
One thing I personally enjoyed about the game was the music, which is surprisingly good. It adds greatly to the atmosphere, which is good when the aforementioned poor level design is remembered.
Ultimately, I would reccommend that you try to rent or borrow this game from a buddy, and I definitely wouldn't go out of my way to get it.
