Well, it might have taken me about 30 years longer than it should have; but at long last, I have finally gotten around to playing, beating, and fully enjoying the masterpiece that is this game! Even among 16-bit video game entries, this game can STILL give modern video games a run for their money; in terms of the amount of things that can be done in this game! Even for a video game expert like me, it took me about 36 hours (on and off) of playing this game, in order to find everything, and beat every boss! And this game was made in 1994! Now THAT, is STAYING power! The graphics, music, sound, controls, and the difficulty are all very well balanced in this game; and the story is pretty impressive as well. While the canon name of the main hero is Ryu, you CAN name him anything you want! When his village is destroyed by the Dark Dragon Lord Zog, he sets out on a long adventure to Zog's Kingdom, in order to bring him, and his forces to justice! He will eventually get items that will allow him to fish for valuable objects, as well as learn how to transform into several offensive dragon forms! Along the way, he will meet many allies who will help him on his journey! Nina, a flying white mage, who's curing and healing spells will be invaluable throughout the journey, and will eventually learn how to fly you all around the world! Bo, a hunting wolf-man, who can easily travel through forests, hunt wild game, and is the ONLY party member, that gets to have weapons that will deal the SAME amount of damage from the back row, as well as the front row! Karn, a ninja thief who can disarm trap chests, unlock locked doors, and learn the arts of being able to morph/combine your different party members, and access the dragon doors in one of his forms! Gobi, a fish-man who can breathe underwater, and can eventually learn to transform into a giant fish in order to traverse otherwise impassible chasms! Ox, a strong ox-man who can break through breakable walls, rocks, and hit trees to get fruit items. Bleu, a half-female/half-snake black mage who can cast a BUNCH of offensive magic spells! And Mogu, a mole-man who can dig for buried treasure in the dragon spots located around the world! Using all of their different techniques, they must fight all the bosses and enemies that come their way; in order to become strong enough to take down Zog, and Tyr, the Goddess of Destruction! This is an amazing, compelling R.P.G. adventure that deserves to be played all the way through at least once! I did, and it's one of the BEST video games I have ever played! Enough said, true believers!
