Overall Brink is a fun experience, just lacks the punch, and is marred by LAG leading to a less than stellar experience

I have only played Brink for about 4 hours and I was EXTREMELY excited for the game. I think the reviews have been a bit harsh on the game so far as I think it deserves more credit than it is receiving. However I must admit the LAG is unacceptable and for Bethesda to proclaim the game as done and ship it a week early when it obviously could have used more TLC is disappointing on a whole separate level.

The gameplay is fun, and the parkour elements are phenomenal. I find this a fun game to play. I am disappointed by the fact that there are only 8 maps, those maps can favor one side over the other, and there is no option for team deathmatch/capture the flag or other standard gameplay modes. To not include at least a team deathmatch option just seems straight out stupid on the developers part.

The campaign is a bit weak story wise and it does seem to get in the way. The user interface can also feel a bit cumbersome, but the overall aesthetics/presentation of the character customization is excellent. I give presentation a 7/10

Gameplay is great, it is disappointing not to include standard team modes, and that each map has to be played a set way, I give gameplay a 7/10

Graphics look good, just a few issues that lag just makes worse. 8/10

Lasting appeal is TBD, could be a 10, could be a 1 depending if they update it to allow death matches/ctf etc and add more maps.
