Huge ambition, lost potential.

Ive been following Brink since it was announced with growing excitement with every new piece of news, so I don's know why it was a let down. The feature that the developers praised so much was the seamless connection between single and multiplayer. This is nothing to brag about. When I buy a game, i intend to have separate experiences between SP and MP, they dont need to be one in the same. This just left me feeling like there was no SP at all. The SMART system was fun, but was inconsistent for when it wanted to work. Light body types were very fun and could run over anything, mediums worked sometimes and other times I had to repeatedly run into a wall until my character finally realized he could jump it. Heavy body type was slowed down too much where as the SMART system was pretty much non-existent. Character appearance was fun to customize but not as massive as it claimed to be. I felt like most guns were the same and only a handful were worth using. Lag and connection issues killed this game the first week, and even now 3 weeks later, I still have issues. The AI is some of the worst i have ever seen. The friendly AI is incompetent and will never do side objectives or assault enemies in an effective manner. The enemy AI had ungodly good accuracy and came in never ending waves. If you are playing alone and have an objective to guard something, it is near impossible because the enemy AI is unrelenting, in a bad way. On an ending note the graphics are artistically very nice but technically are ugly and hard on the eyes. This is a great play for a week or so, but will not be your go-to MP game we were all hoping for.
