Interesting story with humerous send ups of point and click conventions beautifully presented

I enjoyed The Secret of Monkey Island when it came out so I wish I had known about Broken Sword as it has many similarities. Coming to it many years after its release it took time to get used to the point and click conventions. Several times I resorted to trying every object with every person. But the correct solution always turned out to be logical. A bit of lateral thinking is required for this game. I felt that the writers had a degree of sympathy for me and even my worst attempts at solving the puzzles elicited no more than a humerous but forgiving response. The humour pops up throughout the game. My favourite moment was when George is asked by the assassin in a cave in Syria whether he wants to die like a man or a mouse. The dialogue choice boxes then pop up a rugged looking man and a cartoon mouse.
