I have been keeping a close eye on Brothers in Arms for awhile now. It was the gritty graphics that first caught my eye. This is far from the crisp world of Call of Duty. The graphics in Brothers in Arms set the mood of the game well. The character models are some of the best ever, and are flawlessly animated. The evironments are large, and give you a true sense of freedom, apposed to forcing you in one direction. The gameplay is truely unique. It is immersive and suprisingly fast paced. Firing a weapon, makes you feel like you're firing a weapon, where in other games, you just don't get that feeling. The gameplay is just open-ended enough, that the missions will play out differently every time. The sound is also on par with the games high standards, throwing you into the chaos of battle. Each weapon sounds different, and powerful, and explosions rock the ground, filling the air with shrapnel. The voice acting is done well enough that you will remain immersed through the 10-15 hour campaign. The multiplayer is suprisingly good in this game. It's a great change of pace, from the normal deathmatch/teamdethmatch gameplay. The multiplayer retains the same mission-based gameplay as the singleplayer, and gives a unique experience on every front. There are just enough maps to keep you playing, and more are likely to be available for download, on xbox live. Brothers in Arms takes a lot of chances, drifting away from the standard FPS formula, but it the fact that it is far from the norm, that makes it truly great.
