Overrated, not a bad-game just not as good as the hype.
It does bring something new into the WWII shooter; the squad mechanics which have been covered by everyone else so I'm not going to describe them here. If you don't know what I mean then read gamespot's review first.
The ability to order your squads around a bit is nice but it really isn't all that it was built up to be. You basically tell your guys "go there" or "shoot at him" and that's it. If you've never played a tactical sim PC game like Ghost Recon or SWAT 3/4 than I guess it is sort of revolutionary. If you have played any of those games than you will find the limited orders lacking.
The whole covering fire thing is a nice concept but it doesn't always work. I've been shot by the enemy while they have the icon that claims they are 100% suppressed a number of times.
I think what disappoints me the most is the amount of potential in the game. It could have been SO much better than it is with just a few tweaks here and there.
If you've played all the rest and are hungry for another WWII action shooter then you will probably enjoy this game quite a bit. I'm kind of tired of the genre and bought this because all the reviews boasted how different it is than every other WWII FPS on the market.
The end line is that it really isn't much different than all the WWII games out there.
