World War II...The way it really happened.

Brothers in Arms, a masterpiece of gaming and easily the most respected tactical WW2 game ever. When it was released in march of '05, I was looking for a ww2 game that would beat the infamous Call of Duty series and the rather cheesy Medal of Honor series, when I saw the commercial for the first time and heard it was the highest rated WW2 game of all time, I was in love. The game was an honor to play, it featured both tactical realism, unbeatable authenticity and the most in-depth and heartwarming storyline I've ever seen in a game, it instantly reminded me of Band of Brothers. The tactics aren't just made up by the developers but was created and used by the United States Army during World War II, the developers copied those very same training manuals that were taught to the Paratroopers of WW2, to the fine detail, the four "F"s, Find,Fix,Flank and Finnish. so it instantly is unbeatable in the tactics. The game follows the actions of the 101st Airborne, 3rd Platoon, Fox Company, 2nd Battalion, 502nd PIR, under Sergeant Matthew Baker who is the main character of the story, now i can't tell the whole storyline here, it'd take 10 pages, you'll just have to buy it for yourself. However, the PS2 version was a bit gargled and a lot of great content was lost in translation between the switch between the PC and XBOX versions, which were far superior in sound, visuals, storyline details and overall quality. The weapons are closely modeled after the real things, when Baker is holding his weapon, that is what it looks, sounds and feels like, the accuracy is correct since you take into account that this is Baker's first combat and the fear of combat makes him flinch a bit, but not too much. The primary weapons Baker carries are the M1 Garand rifle, and the M1A1 Thompson submachine gun, the M1 is the standard weapon in the game, and it's realism is unmatched it can fire 8 consecutive shots as fast a you can pull the trigger, and, unlike all the rest of the WW2 games out there, it can be reloaded in mid-clip just like soldiers were trained in real life, And I can vouch for that, I own a real M1 Garand, and it's a piece of cake. The Tommy gun carries the dreaded .45 ACP round, and fires around 750 RPM, that is the standard weapon for American officers and NCOs in WW2 and Korea. Now the battles you will engage in are the most true and realistic in any video game in history. in-fact, they say that once you play the game enough and memorize the levels, you can actually get a job as a tour guide in the real French towns in real life. If you are a fan of WW2, history and storylines, this IS your game.
