Brutal Legend is one of the most worthwild games I've ever played.A True Gem SCORE - 9.8/10

User Rating: 10 | Brutal Legend X360
Brutal Legend will go down as one of the best games I've ever played. Although the gameplay is solid and fun, that is not what really drives the game home. The great Characters,Voices,Writing,Presentation, and Effort is what really drives it home.

Music
The soundtrack in this game is one of the best I've ever seen,if not the best. The game includes great Metal bands like Judas Priest, 3 Inches Of Blood, Marilyn Manson, Rob Zombie, and more. Tenacious D is thrown in for good measure as well. The original guitar riffs and songs composed/written originally for the game are quite good as well and some of which stand out. My only complaints is that the car radio is not unlocked untill a couple of missions in and there's no Iron Maiden or Metallica. However both of those are minor complaints and come down to me nitpicking just for the sake of being a jerk.

Graphics
Although the Graphics are not anything to scream about, their decent and get the job done. I couldn't care less about the Graphics to be honest. They look acceptable and don't ruin the game,so in my book they get a pretty much full score.

Voice Acting
Do you even need me to tell you that the Voice acting is amazing? Well,it is. Ozzy has some great lines and banter between him & Jack Black's character. Lemmy also does a great job, along with Halford and everyone else. Jack Black does a amazing job,as always,as the main character and there's some really fantastic cameos, like Kyle Grass appearing in some side missions. Yeah a couple of lines are repeated here and there, but you barely noticed it with everything that's going on.

Controls
The controls are very responsive and you get used to them right away.No complaints what so ever.

Story
During a gig for Kabbage Boy, one of its band members nearly falls off the set, but is caught by Eddie. However, a piece of the set falls and injures Eddie, knocking him unconscious and causing his blood to land on his cursed belt buckle, in reality an amulet for Ormagöden. The buckle magically transforms the stage set into Ormagöden. The beast kills the members of Kabbage Boy and transports Eddie into the heavy metal world. Awakening at the Temple of Ormagöden, Eddie joins forces with Ophelia to defeat Doviculus' troops. Ophelia is amazed that Eddie is able to make sense of the writings of the Titans in the Temple, with which he constructs a hot-rod, the Druid Plow (afterwards referred to as the Deuce). She directs Eddie towards Bladehenge, where the leaders of a small human resistance group, Lars and Lita, are attempting to assemble an army to fight Lionwhyte. When Eddie reveals his understanding of the Titan's writing, the group see him as a "chosen one", though they are unsure if he is the savior or destroyer of the world. - Wikipedia

In the story you run around with your electric shoot axe...well guitar and your axe....this time it really is an axe, within a world of METAL! The world is great and so fleshed out,all the creatures you meet are awesome, like the Grim Reaper and the Hextadon. The world feels like a bunch of album covers molded together, one area seemed very much like the cover to the album Painkiller by Judas Priest. The writing is also so brilliant, filled to the brim with in jokes and references, like "make them ride your lightning for a change!". I love the dialogue and the story in this game so much, plus it has a fantastic climax.

Gameplay
The game is a weird mixture of Racing,RTS,and Action Adventure/Beat Em Up. About half of the story missions are these RTS stages where you spawn and command different types of troops, while the other half are Action Adventure slashing away missions. Even in the RTS stages, your still there to jump into the fight and hack n' slash yourself. A vast majority of the side missions are just you beating up enemies.,however alot of them are races or involve your car, which is where the racing part comes from. Even in the RTS stages you can pull out your car at anytime, hell it's needed to beat the last RTS stage! The game also allows free roaming, which is a big plus. You can also go across the world and use your guitar to free bound/gagged statues of dragons inorder to upgrade your max health, damage, etc., unlock more music, unlock more guitar solos, get more fire tributes, and unlock more motor forges. You get Fire Tributes from completing Side and Plot Missions, Unlocking more of anything, Going off marked jumps in your car, and killing enemies. You can then go to any of 12 Motor Forges where you visit Ozzy and give him Fire Tributes for Upgrades to your Axe,Guitar,Car,and more. The game also includes a ton more optional stuff like marked jumps and the customizable Mount Rockmore, plus it's of medium length if you do one or two side missions in between Plot Missions.

Overall if you like Metal and enjoy Original,Well Written, and Funny games then you have no excuse not to pick this game up! Besides what's more epic then a Brutal Legend?.......sorry about the pun.
