A fun game with a rocking atmosphere is too short to warrant a purchase at its full price tag, but it is a perfect rent

Many are quick to disregard this game because of Jack Black, but I can allay any feelings that you may have with Jack Black and his personality because it is clear that the sharp writing was by Double Fine. Utilizing Jack Black's voice, the dialogue is one of the best in a game. The swearing and comments by Jack Black and supporting characters is downright hilarious.

One of the first things that impressed me was the atmosphere. If the metal genre was made into its own world, it would probably look much like it does in this game. There are some great cameos as well. I won't spoil the game. The atmosphere varies and never gets dull. It has its own distinct art direction that enhances the metal feel.

What makes this game is the soundtrack. The soundtrack is made of purely metal music. There are a ton of songs and even when they do repeat, you won't mind as they chose the cream of the crop.

The reason for the low score is the game length. The game only took me 6 hours to complete. A true completionary could muster maybe 10 hours out of this title. The gameplay is fun and riding in your trusty vehicle throughout the countryside provides some of the best memories.

For $10 the game is definitely worth it. A rent is probably best as once the game is completed, there is really no reason to look back.
