Bubble Bobble was one of the first games I played. We played it over and over...theme song is still stuck in my brain.

I bought this for memory's sake when this came out for the GBA. Way back when my dad got his first DOS computer, this was one of four games he got for us. Until we finally convinced him to get us a NES, that was it. The other games were good, but the one that was really frozen in our brains was Bubble Bobble. Me and my brother loved it simply because we could play at the same time as Bub and Bob. The theme music was also extremely catchy, so catchy in fact, that even though I haven't owned a Bubble Bobble related game since then I still remebered it.

Story: I'm not sure if there really is a story to Bubble Bobble. If there was, it'd probably be some nonsense about saving their home or village or something. I don't really read manuals and there aren't any cutscenes to tell you what the story was if there was one...or maybe there were and I just didn't notice...oh, well...ether way it doesn't really matter. No one really cares about WHY Bub and Bob do there thing as long as they do it. Anyway you play as two cute godzilla-dinosuar guys named Bub and Bob who defeat their enemys by blowing bubbles and catching the enemys in them. There is no difference between Bub and Bob other than Bub is green and Bob is blue.

Gameplay: There are to modes and two goals in each one. There is Classic mode (a tiny bit harder) and New mode (easier, but not by too much). Both are pretty must the same type of thing and have the two goals: 1) clear the level and move to another one and 2) get as many point as you can while doing it. Both goals seem endless, but for some reason this game has one of those weird effects on people that won't let them put the game down. I mean, the gameplay is simple: Go capture enemys in bubbles in a sidescolling fasion while trapped in a small room , pop all bubbles and turn enemys into fruit, eat fruit to gain more points, defeat all enemys to go to next level. The things is...you just think it's totally awsome the whole time and just keep at it. It doesn't seem to get old. Sort of like why people keep playing pinball and solitare.

Graphics: A cute little game that you will take one look at and think: "Oh, little kid's game". True the game was designed to look and feel that way, but if you ever played Bubble Bobble before than you would know that the difficulty gets insane as you beat level after level after level after...well, you get it.

Sound: Let me repeat myself: I will never forget the theme song. I think it's perminatly ingrained into my brain. Logically there's nothing to special about the rest of the sounds, but that theme song is so catchy it's scary.

In conclusion, this is a great way to just suck away all your time. This game is so addicting that kids will probably have to have there GBA actually shut off for them to make them snap out of it. Great for anyone, expessially those with sort attention spans and for parents with really noisey children in the house.
