Rejoice, Buffy Fans
The fight controls are easy to learn and as you progress through the game you learn more combos and are are able to perform a varity of more difficult moves. You have lots of different weapons to use during the game. Against demons almost any weapon is useful. Vampires, as you would expect, have to be dispatched using somw thing made of wood like a bat, a stake or a crossbow bolt.
The entire main cast of Buffy shows up lend their voices to the game with the exception of Sarah Michelle Gellar. Giselle Loren is the actress that was chosen to voice Buffy. She is so close to Gellar' voice that even die hard Buffy fans have a hard time in noticing much difference when she's surrounded by Buffy regulars Nicholas Brenda, David Boreanez, Charisma Carpenter, Allison Hannigan, Anthony Stewart Head and James Marsters. The ambient, eerie music that plays as you wander levels quickly changes to pulse pounding music during fights and then back again. This use of music and the voice acting make sound top notch.
The visuals in the game are really good too. A wide variety of locals from the Buffyverse are here to explore like the High School. Even as great as the scenery looks its the character models that steal the show. Every character, whether Buffy or NPC, looks like their counterpart from the show. You can really tell the similarities in the cut scenes when talking and their facial expressions change. These graphics might not be up to todays standards, but they were good for its time. Something like Contra doesn't look good compaired to today's technology but that still doesn't change the fact that its a good game. The same goes for Buffy. A good game is a good game no matter when it was made. I'm sure Buffy fans will keep this one around for years to come. I know I will.
