Who knew slaying vampires would be this much fun?
I should probably point out that you don't really need to have ever seen the TV series to enjoy this game (But it definately helps ;) )
You take control of Buffy, who just so happens to be a vampire slayer. You'll lead her through some familiar locations, such as the Bronze nightclub, Sunnydale High-School and Angel's mansion, as well as some new locations unfamiliar to fans.
*****Gameplay******
The game plays out like a typical brawling actioner. Walk, Slay vampires & other assorted demons, solve the odd simple puzzle, proceed.
Throw in a few platforming sections and you've got a game.
That's something i want to highlight actually. The platforming. It doesn't actually feature that much until later in the game, when you'll find yourself shimmying across chasms and jumping across ethereal floating platforms.
BUT it work surprisingly well!
I just wanted to say that, because Buffy handles more from a combat point of view, yet, either i was extremely lucky or she actually manages to pull off Lara style moves with relative ease.
Not too sure on that one, but either way
WELL DONEZ.
*****Graphics*****
Considering this was an early Xbox original release it's held up well! I much prefer the look & style of this one, over the more cartoony sequel, "Chaos Bleeds".
The characters look pretty close to their screen doubles, and the atmospheric & huge locations are very well detailed.
*****And the rest...*****
Granted, unless you fancy playing through on Hard mode, or collecting all the secrets (Which aren't tracked in your progress btw)
There's not really anything to do past completing the main adventure, but it's worth your time to go play through, even if it is just the once ;).
So i'm giving the game an 8.5
A fun & enthralling way to spend some time, but lack of replayability and linear paths through levels knock it back a little bit from the perfect action game.
