Like many great games Bulletstorm emerged from a very ambitious concept that had the potential to develop into an awesome game. Bulletstorm was set up to be a revolutionary shooter in which players would be rewarded by the awesomeness of their kills. This is one of the game's biggest strength but also biggest flaw. The addictive reward system always has you wanting for more but not in a good. The system that is in itself well built -no glitches to report- is insufficient to deliver the AWESOMENESS it was intended to. This is mainly due to an outstandingly poor variety of weapons -6 or 7 weapons- which offer an equivalently poor amount of upgrades. The few modifications that you can make help you do more stuff - killing dudes with exploding, guided sniper bullets for example- but you will always feel that you don't have the freedom you should have. Nevertheless, Bulletstorm is like i said a great game and even though the multiplayer and array of weapons/killing combos are limited, the graphics and pace of the game are adjusted to perfection. The story lacks logic - the relationship between sushi dick and gray is disappointing and weird in a bad way- but it does not ruin the action . The game mechanics are overall worthy of the best FPS available out there. It's a blast but it's not a game you'll be telling your kids about in 20 years. If you don't want to wait on crysis 2 and BRINK then BUY IT! Gamespot nailed the 8 on that one!
